8th grade honor code - cheating
According to the Parent/Student Handbook cheating is a major offense. For first offenses the eighth grade team has determined that the penalty will include a call home, a detention, and a zero on the assignment. A second offense will include a half-day in school suspension, a parent conference, and a zero on the assignment.

- I understand that cheating is running multiple copies of an assignment either on the Xerox machine or on a computer and simply changing the name. All students involved will receive a zero on the assignment.
- I understand that cheating is copying any part of the text, or the main idea, of any other person's work on the internet or in a print source and passing it off as my own.
- I understand that I will receive a zero if I fail to both use quotation marks and cite the source.
- I understand that these rules apply to all assignments.
